Privacy and review rules

What we hold

• Agent branch records: business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites and published listings, from public registers and agents’ own websites.
• People who claim a branch: the work email used to verify, and the date. Used only to manage the profile.
• Reviewers: name, email, and optionally the property postcode and month. We publish only your first name and initial. Your email is used to confirm the review and is never shown or shared. The postcode is used only to check the sale against HM Land Registry, and is not shown.

Google Business Profile connections

If an agent signs in with Google, we read the list of business locations that account manages, and each location’s overall star rating and review count. We use this only to verify that the agent manages the branch and to show and blend that rating on the agent’s register profile. We do not read or store individual reviews, post anything, or change anything on Google. We store an encrypted access token so the rating can refresh nightly. An agent can disconnect at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by asking us; we then delete the token and the Google rating.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Review rules

• Reviews must describe your own genuine experience with the branch within the last three years.
• Agents, their staff, and their families or business connections may not review their own branch. We reject reviews from the agent’s own email domain.
• Every review is confirmed by email before it counts. Reviews containing links are checked by a person before publication.
• Agents cannot edit or remove reviews. They can reply publicly once to each one.
• We remove reviews that are defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, or that share someone’s personal information.
• Where a reviewer gives a postcode and month, we mark the review “sale confirmed by HM Land Registry” if a matching sale is recorded.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by emailing us. We keep reviewer emails for as long as the review is published, and claim records for as long as the profile is managed.
