About the UK Agent Register

More than property market data

What is the UK Agent Register? An independent register of every estate and letting agent office in the UK. It records who each agent is, how they perform and what their customers say, then reads every figure against the people and places the branch serves. The local area data comes from our sister site, Property Data.

Most agent comparison sites stop at listings and sold prices. That tells you how many homes an agent sells. It does not tell you whether a 97% sale-to-asking ratio is good for that patch, or whether an agent is winning the instructions that matter in a town where most homes are rented, retired or first-time-buyer stock. We compile wider data and cross-tabulate it against geodemographics, so every agent is judged against the market it actually works in.

1. The agent

Branch, group or network, redress scheme, Companies House record, years trading, website and social profiles, and Google, Trustpilot and ESTAS reviews. Kept current by our crawlers and by agents who claim their branch.

2. The market

Live sales and lettings stock read from each agent's own website, new instructions and price reductions, matched listing by listing to HM Land Registry to give price achieved against asking and time to sell.

3. The place and its people

Census 2021 tenure, age, household type, education and deprivation, crime and housing stock for every neighbourhood, from Property Data. This turns a league table into a fair comparison.

Property Data holds the area side: sold prices since 2016, price bands, crime, Census 2021 housing and residents. Each area on this register links to it, and Property Data's agent league tables link back here.
